Curriculum

At Shaloh house we are dedicated to fostering a learning environment that inspires our students to become active, constructivist learners. We believe that children learn best when they have a voice in their educational journey. Teachers create engaging provocations that spark curiosity, prompting students to ask questions and share ideas. These questions and ideas then shape the curriculum, ensuring that learning is relevant and meaningful. Our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces serve as an extension of the classroom, acting as a “third teacher” that supports and enhances the child’s exploration and discovery.

Judaism

Our approach seamlessly blends the principles of Reggio Emilia with Jewish values and ideas, creating a holistic and meaningful learning experience. By incorporating “lenses” – specific frameworks that guide both teachers and parents – we foster a shared understanding of Judaism within the learning community. These lenses encourage reflection on Jewish teachings, traditions, and practices, ensuring they are woven into everyday experiences and interactions. This unique combination allows us to nurture a deep sense of identity, connection, and purpose, empowering children to engage with Jewish values while actively participating in their own learning and discovery.
